Rehoming Board Waiting List - How It All Works
Intro.
Welcome to the rehoming board control panel, I bet you’re wondering what it does. Well here’s the deal, people want to rehome some poor mousey so they fill in this form, when they hit submit it appears in our rescue inbox. From the waiting list control panel you have the option to approve it, edit it or bin the rubbish… if you read the sections below I’ll explain what each link does.
Using the top toolbar.
The page is broken into three parts, a top toolbar, the list in the middle, and some other links in the bottom toolbar. The top tool bar consists of 2 links …
Inbox Recycle Bin
These links change the contents of the list infront of you.
- Inbox
This is a list of requests/posts in the queue awaiting your attention. - Recycle Bin
This is exactly the same as the recycle bin on your desktop, if you delete something you can recover it from here.
What do all those buttons do ?
Next to each request in the list will be a selection of links/buttons, depending on what list you have opened (using the links above) will depend what your options are.
- Inbox
- Approve
Click this if you’re happy with all the details, comments etc, and the entry will be posted into the forum for the public to view. - EditClicking this will enable “edit mode” you’ll be able to change the post subject, i.e. the thread topic title or correct any mistakes.
- Moderate
If you’re not sure if this post should be in the forum or not, this will post the entry into the special moderators form; there you can discuss with the other rescuers what to do next. - Delete
If the post isn’t spam, but not appropriate, i.e. a purpose / or litter being sold, this will bin it for you.
- Approve
- Recycle Bin
- Recover
Clicked delete by accident? Clicking recover will move the post back into the inbox
- Recover
Using the bottom toolbar.
The final list of links, the reason this is at the bottom, and not at the top as these take you to different pages.
- Seach
Each post is given an ID or reference number, here you can look up what happened to an individual ID. - Help
That would be this page then. - Submission Form
Thats the form that starts the whole processes
Tips ‘n’ Tricks.
Logging in and checking the waiting list often can be a pain, so we’re always trying to think of ways to make life easy, currently there are two. Both are draft solutions, and have only been tested on one machine, if you have problems please document as much as you can, what you were doing, any errors etc and let Nick know.
