I bought these because they were cute! They are made from soft, but durable plastic (easily chewable for other rodents though). The irregular shape makes thorough cleaning more difficult, and the painted eyes, mane etc does begin to wear off. My mice seem to prefer to use these as litter trays rather than sleeping in them. However that is probably a good thing because a shy or stubborn mouse would be difficult to extract from one of these, without tipping it upside down, as the mouth isn’t big enough for human hands to fit in.

When I first came across the Pet Jungle Bungalow, I wasn’t impressed. It looked like a cheap, plastic, childs toy. However, I saw some hamsters sleeping inside one and changed my mind, as they looked so cute and cosy. My mice ignored it in the beginning, but now it’s quite common to find at least one of them sitting inside, chilling out. There are different designs to choose from, I bought the “Elephant”. It’s plastic and reasonably easy to clean, although it’s not as easy to dry properly, as it’s difficult to reach inside the trunk. The mice have also started to chew bits off it. I don’t think it would make good sleeping quarters, but would recommend it, as it’s something different and my mice like it, which is the important thing.
