Price: £25
Score: 7/10

Plus Points:

Easy to clean with perspex roof and plastic base
Comes with in built ‘den’, water bottle, feed cowl and wheel
Easy access
Allows deep bedding
Prevents the fall out of bedding

Minus Points:

Not much space
No bars so not as easy for exercise
Only really allows for toys that are ‘floor based’
Not the best ventilation

I overall, like this particular cage. It’s ideal for lone males, ill mice, nursing mice and older, inactive mice. If you don’t have loads of room for a cage it’s also pretty good, however, there is not much room for exercise and you have to be clever to fit stuff in for them to do.

This is an excellent starter cage for young mice as I have found it very secure and easy to clean. However although when I first put my pair of mice in there they seemed absolutely tiny in it I quickly realised with how active they are they need much more space than this cage can offer.

I did manage to hang a small hammock from the wire lid, and a small climbing robe, but this was the most I could fit and felt they could benefit from much more hanging space. I would though imagine this would be great for older, less active mice.

Pros:
A great little tank with built in hiding/bed place where the bottle, bowl and wheel included can be attached. Very easy to clean and good access with large top wired opening door.

Cons:
On the small side so not much spcae to add toys. With lack of bars there is no climbing fun for the mice unless they hang upside on top wired door. Also not really able to hang hammocks and things as your limited to the wired top opening door.

Over all I do like this as a birthing and nursery tank as it is ideal for that purpose.

I have 3 of these Savic Rody cages and have only keep them for emergencies or for a hospital cage. I do not like them for permanent accommodation as I don’t like the all plastic sides, not enough ventilation. Also mice can’t climb and interact with you as they can through a barred cage. Also you are restricted to the amount of toys you can hang. After a while the plastic top can become scratched due to cleaning. I do how ever like the deep base it stops bedding and substrate from being scattered. The wheel that comes with the cage however fails to work after while as it sags on the floor and will no longer turn.
