In theory, a wonderful drinking bottle. It has a clip fastening that twist-fits onto the bars and then the bottle clips into a half-circle plastic part which is much handier and easier to use than the conventional wire loop fastening. The spout is a nice long length, which prevents leakage caused by the spout not reaching into the cage and instead touching the bars.

However, the ball mechanism on mine had jammed within a few weeks of use. This could just be an unlucky experience on my part. I would have given it 10, but if it doesn’t dispense water it’s no good! I wouldn’t buy this again for this reason.

The Savic Biba comes in 5 sizes: 100mL, 150mL, 250mL, 500mL, and 1000mL. They all come with a green plastic clip as well as the standard hooked wire, providing 2 different ways of attaching the bottle.

Pros:

The green plastic clip provides an easy, non-fiddly way to attach the bottle to the cage. However, it’s only strong enough to hold the smaller bottles once they’ve been filled with water: the larger bottles, once full, are much too heavy and just fall through the gap in the plastic clip. Thankfully, Savic also provide the usual length of white wire, so regardless of which size of bottle you have, one of the two attachment methods they provide should work.

Cons:

My water bottle experience is not particularly comprehensive - just 2 Bibas and 2 Classics - but of the 4 bottles I’ve encountered, the only one that ever got blocked was a Biba. They also seem slightly more prone to leaking than the Classics.

Additionally, the opacity of the Biba means that it’s more difficult to see the water level than it would be with a clear bottle, and virtually impossible to see air bubbles rising to the top as a mouse takes a drink.

Overall:

I would not recommend buying this bottle, due to its unreliability (at least in my experience) combined with its opacity (which makes it difficult to assess whether the bottle is working). The green plastic clip is a nice thought, but it’s not nice enough to be worth the hassle of leaking or blocked bottles, and it doesn’t work for the larger bottles anyway. I would only use this bottle as a second, back-up bottle, and only if it came for free with a Savic cage (as they often do). If you need to spend actual money on a bottle, then there are other, better bottles at similar prices.

The Savic Biba drinking bottle can be attached to most wore cage by a green plastic clip or the usual wire fastening.

Pros
-Two ways to attach to the cage
-Long spout ensures the water does not leak out by the spout touching the bars

Cons
-It is pretty much opaque, so you can’t see the bubbles rising when the mouse drinks
-After a few months, the markers along the side wears off, so it can be hard if you have a mouse who needs meds in their water
-Often leaks, or never actually work
-The green plastic holder only works with the smaller bottles, as when they are full, the larger bottles just fall out of the gap. But using the wire instead solves this problem.

Overall, I probably wouldn’t buy this again as I found it very unpredictable due to leakages, blockages etc.
