Place Purchased: Pets At Home
Price: around £3 for 500g
Score: 7/10
Ingredients: Dried potato, dried carrot, dried peas, dried parsnip, dried swede.
Typical analysis: protein 10%, oils and fats 0.6%, fibre 13%.
Pros:
I find a dried vegetable mix to be a convenient way to feed vegetables as a treat. Since they’re dried, they won’t go off like fresh or frozen veg will, and you don’t have to remember to search the cage for half-eaten bits of food afterwards. I also add a bit of dried veg to the regular food mix to liven it up a bit, and my spiny mice seem to like it well enough.
Cons:
The only real con with this product is that it’s too big a bag for my needs, and I wish Pets At Home sold it in 100g or 250g bags.
Overall:
While there’s nothing to recommend this particular dried vegetable mix over any other, it’s still a nice, healthy treat and also a great extra to add to the regular dry mix. I just wish I didn’t have to buy so much of it at once.
