I found this cage to be very useful for young mice who are too small to house in barred caged because of them escaping. Its spacious enough for a small group of young mice until they are big enough for a barred cage, and allows for lots of tunnels and houses etc. With a few suctions cups you can also add hammocks and others toys. The water bottle is easy to use, and though it lacks brilliant ventilation, i feel it is a very handy cage, either for young animals, or a hospital tank, or even a lone buck or an old mouse. Its uses are almost endless, I have got two of these and would certainly buy another!

I had my girls in a tank with cage bars on the top, but the babies were getting out. So another member mentioned putting them into a Duna until they were a bit bigger and the problem is solved. The bars are close enough together to stop even the most determined escapees and there is still enough room on the top to hang things from. Plus the floor space is great! Just a little imagination is needed to kit it out, but that’s easy enough. Very highly recommended!

I got the Ferplast Mini Duna for my two young and very active females. The Mini Duna has prefect sized bar spacing to prevent even slender young mice with a taste for freedom escaping! I think this cage is good value for money, and provides a good amount of space for a maximum of 3 female mice or two male mice (depending on how many toys are provided inside). The Ferplast Mini Duna comes with a pet house, bedding, a water bottle and wheel. However, I have to say I found fault with some of the items provided! The platform which sits inside the enclosure doesn’t fit soundly and there is a gap between the end of it and the wall of the Duna on one side. I think small baby mice could well get trapped in this gap! So I have actually taken the platform away altogether. I have had to provide a standing wheel of my own for the Duna, because the one provided is deigned to slot into the platform. The water bottle supplied is rather ugly looking and hard to put together. This bottle does not have my trust to even work properly. So I have hung a common style water bottle from the ceiling of the enclosure instead. My girls love the little mouse house which comes with the Duna. It provides a safe place to retire to and is nice and warm inside when they fill it with bedding. However, I think they may outgrow it and the actual mouse house could only be suitable for a maximum of two slim mice. Ferplast Mini Duna it’s self looks very smart and is very secure once properly fitted together. Which is very important if you have potential predators as pets, such as cats, terrier dogs and rats. I found fitting the cage door top into the plastic slots a little tricky but once fitted the door opens smoothly and is very secure!

I brought this cage as a result of GMC (Get More Cage syndrome!) and thought it would be a great hospital tank. We have introduced this cage to all our rats so they wont suffer neophobia if they require the tank in future. I do not like the sippy bottles as they have a tendency to leak. Also if you intend to use this item as a hospital tank it is great because you can store all the stuff you need inside so it’s all in one place. I like this cage and would buy another.

I thought this cage looked good to start with, so we got it for our mice. Shortly after buying it we realised it was far too small for them! The wheel that attaches to the plastic level didn’t work particularly well, as it was too low down and when the cage litter built up near it the wheel wouldn’t turn. We took the wheel off and gave them a silent spinner instead. The water bottle that came with the cage was naff so we had to change that too. We also ended up taking the solid plastic level out as the mice just piddled on it and it absolutely stunk! We wiped it regularly but it just seemed to smell awful. The mice would then walk though all the sticky piddle and it made them smell too! If it had a wire level, the wee and poo would be able to fall through, rather than just sitting on the level with nothing to soak into. I think this cage would be ideal for a doe to have her babies in, or to house a sick mouse but I feel there is just not enough living space for healthy adult mice.
