Please, ok sorry Im panicking again now. I had what I thought were three females, I found out that Nobby was male and removed him 21 days ago after I found a litter of babies, those babies are now just over 3 weeks old. I was just taking pics and the other adult female bit me . I picked her up to calm her down and then a saw her huge gigantic enormous belly, how long is mouse pregnancy??? Omg I dont know what to do , can she stay with the other mum and the babies or do I need to seperate her? Can someone help please Im so scared, I dont want to be a breeder, I have only just found homes for the other babies. Help please someone calm me down. The daddy mouse died whilst being castrated so I dont want to loose Freckles (the pregnant one) I cant cope with that. Sorry for rambling on.

Is she massively bigger than normal? Is she lumpy or just look like she swallowed a golf ball?

Ahh, that sounds like you've got some more babes on the way. lol D'oh.
If when the time comes some kind of mouse train can be arranged (or I can travel, lol) I might be able to help relocate them to a nice big cage here. :)
I'll be my eyes on your posts. :)

No they arent related, I just looked properly at the pics, she flippin is isnt she . The other litter was only a small one with 5 babies but the other mum never looked any bigger so I think this might be a bigger litter. _________________ Owned by 5 lovely meeces, 1 gsd, 5 Syrian hamsters, 1 Hybrid dwarf hamster, 17 rats, 4 Puddy tats, 2 foster gerbils and a fish |

Do you know roughly how long she has been bigger than normal or was it just today that you've noticed? I'm not sure how long they take to start showing but I would guess at a week or so along? _________________ Parent to a hand reared orphan male field mouse and his fancy girlfriend.

She must be at least 21 days on because I removed the male 21 days ago as soon as I found out he wasnt a female , so that would mean she is due today. _________________ Owned by 5 lovely meeces, 1 gsd, 5 Syrian hamsters, 1 Hybrid dwarf hamster, 17 rats, 4 Puddy tats, 2 foster gerbils and a fish |

Is it possible that they were sexed incorrectly by your friend? _________________ Parent to a hand reared orphan male field mouse and his fancy girlfriend.

Its highly unlikely, theyve been breeding for years and not made mistakes. Come to think of it there is only the one who is pregnant and the one who has just had babies left so they must both be females. I think shes just very pregnant ie due yesterday. _________________ Owned by 5 lovely meeces, 1 gsd, 5 Syrian hamsters, 1 Hybrid dwarf hamster, 17 rats, 4 Puddy tats, 2 foster gerbils and a fish |

Oooo nooooo, not again *hug*
Bless you, I can understand the panic. She is big isn't she
With all the welshies coming in, I believe Furry Friends has some already coming in, its a tricky time for rehoming. But I am certain you will be able to do this, don't worry hun it will be fine. _________________ Freddy 2:- currently home to Lupin, Lily, Tulip and Solo, HH home to Rose and Poppy / Foster Mum to:-Patrick

Don`t panic, as they say! She does look heavily pregnant I`m afraid, but the mum`s together will manage. They help the new mum as long as they get on.
It could be that daddy mouse got to her before he was castrated? I know he`s not around anymore, but he may have left you more reminders!
Baby mice are not a great deal of trouble so if the worst happens, I`m sure they would be fine once seperated into same gender groups and kept with you until good homes can be found nicemice. The females can all stay together obviously. Baby males too, until such a time they require splitting up (in-fighting) that sort of thing. But that may never happen of course. _________________ Of all the people I know, my mice are the most...human. |

I already have homes for two females out of the 2nd litter if there is one (ok who am I kidding when not if) and another person has asked for some females so everybody pray for girls. They would never be homeless or dumped at a pet shop though whatever sex they are but we are literally running out of room to put cages, I have 5 enormous hamster cages, 1 huge rat cage, the mouse cage and a tank ready to put the boy babies in, so my oh will not be happy if I need to keep seperate cages for boy mice . She was taken away from Nobby(daddy mouse) 2 days ago so I think she might be either already a mum or very very nearly a mum, I just hope I can find lovely homes for the boy babies. _________________ Owned by 5 lovely meeces, 1 gsd, 5 Syrian hamsters, 1 Hybrid dwarf hamster, 17 rats, 4 Puddy tats, 2 foster gerbils and a fish |

It is a lot in terms of cage space yes. I can sympathise with that because I`ve had tanks and cages lining my room at one point and am now down to two large cages only! Wait and see what you have once these new babies are old enough to sex and then you`ll have a clearer picture of who`s who and organise homes for the females and then deal with the males, if indeed you have any.
It`s not easy juggling a dog, cats, hamsters, rats and all these mice at once! But give it time. You`ll slowly get there. Just make doubly sure there are no little lads hiding within your harem! _________________ Of all the people I know, my mice are the most...human. |
